A single HEIC file holds a photo, not a video. This tool lines up your iPhone photos and encodes them into one MP4 slideshow you can post to TikTok, Reels, or Stories — right in your browser, with nothing uploaded to a server.
There is no video hidden inside a still HEIC file, so converting one to MP4 is not a format swap — it is building a short video out of one or more photos. Knowing which of the two things you want saves a lot of confusion.
A regular iPhone photo saved as .heic is a single frame — there is no clip inside it. To get an MP4, the photo has to be shown on screen for a few seconds and encoded as video. That is what this tool does: it turns one photo, or a stack of them, into a slideshow.

A note on what "slideshow" means here: each photo is held on screen for the seconds you choose and encoded as H.264 frames — there are no transitions, zoom, or music in this first version. If you want those, build the clip in a video editor. If you just need your HEIC photos as one MP4 you can upload, this is the shortest path.

No — and it's worth understanding why. An iPhone Live Photo is stored as two files: a still .heic image and a separate .mov clip that holds the 1.5 seconds of motion, paired by an internal identifier. The .heic on its own has no video in it. This tool builds a slideshow from the still frame, so the result is your photo shown for a few seconds, not the Live Photo's movement. To keep the actual motion you need the paired .mov file. A dedicated Live Photo (.mov to .mp4) path is on the roadmap.
Total length is simply the number of photos multiplied by the seconds-per-photo you pick. Ten photos at 3 seconds each makes a 30-second video; four photos at 5 seconds makes 20 seconds. The tool shows the running total as you add photos and change the timing, so you can match a platform's limit before you encode.
Not in this tool. A HEIC photo has no audio track, so the MP4 comes out silent. That's deliberate: TikTok, Reels, and Stories all let you add a soundtrack after you upload, and their in-app music is what the algorithm favors anyway. If you want music baked into the file itself, drop the MP4 from here into a video editor and add audio there.
Pick 9:16 (1080×1920) for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Stories — that's the full-screen vertical shape those feeds use. Choose 1:1 (1080×1080) for a square post in the main Instagram or Facebook grid. Use 16:9 (1920×1080) for YouTube or anywhere landscape video is expected. If a photo doesn't fill the chosen shape, it's centered with black or white bars rather than cropped, so nothing important gets cut off.
By default, a blurred, zoomed copy of the photo itself — the same look Instagram and CapCut use. The whole photo stays sharp and centered while the leftover space blends into a soft, out-of-focus backdrop instead of hard bars. If you'd rather have clean edges, switch the Background option to solid black or white. Either way the photo is never cropped — it's centered and scaled to fit, so nothing important is cut off. A photo that already matches the shape you picked fills the frame edge to edge, with no background showing at all.
Yes. Both steps — decoding the HEIC and encoding the MP4 — run entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly and the browser's built-in WebCodecs video encoder. Your photos are never sent to HeicToPng or any third party. The tool needs the browser's WebCodecs H.264 encoder, which almost every current browser has: Chrome, Edge, Safari (Mac and iPhone), and desktop Firefox all work. The one common exception is Firefox on Android, which ships without an H.264 encoder. If you hit the message there, open the page in Chrome or Samsung Internet on the same phone and it will work.

Both. HEIC and HEIF are the same underlying format — HEIC is just Apple's name for HEIF images — so the tool decodes .heic and .heif identically and puts either into the slideshow. You can mix both in one video.
