Every meaningful change we've shipped to HeicToPng since launch — new features, content rewrites, bug fixes, and infrastructure improvements — in reverse chronological order.
V1.2.1 — 2026-04-30
HEIC to PDF page and blog launch
Added /heic-to-pdf — a dedicated converter page that combines HEIC photos into a single PDF document. Runs entirely in your browser with no upload, supports merging multiple images into one PDF or one-PDF-per-image output, and preserves the original photo orientation. Live in all 13 locales.
Launched the blog — practical fixes, format comparisons, and step-by-step tutorials for HEIC photos on Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android. The first article, HEIC Won't Open on Windows 11? Here's How to Fix It, is published in all 13 locales.
V1.2.0 — 2026-04-26
Dedicated HEIC to JPG and HEIC to WebP pages
Added /heic-to-jpg — a dedicated converter page locked to JPG output, with adjustable quality, optional EXIF preservation, and optional GPS stripping. Live in all 13 locales.
Added /heic-to-webp — a dedicated converter page locked to WebP output, including a real lossless WebP mode powered by the libwebp WASM encoder (browsers' canvas API only produces lossy WebP). Live in all 13 locales.
Reworked the advanced settings panel: replaced the binary "keep resolution" toggle with a Max-dimension dropdown (Original / 4096 / 2048 / 1024 px on the long side), added an Auto-rotate by EXIF orientation toggle (default on, fixes sideways photos from libheif fallback decoding), and added a Remove GPS location toggle.
The PNG home page and the four HEIC to PNG device pages now lock to PNG output — you no longer accidentally export the wrong format from a page that promises PNG. Use the dedicated /heic-to-jpg and /heic-to-webp pages to switch formats.
Header and footer now expose direct links to all three converter pages (HEIC to PNG, HEIC to JPG, HEIC to WebP) in every language.
The format-comparison block on the homepage now covers PNG vs JPG vs WebP, with one-click links into each dedicated converter.
V1.1.2 — 2026-04-23
Support more languages & bug fix
Added six new languages: Traditional Chinese (繁體中文), French, Italian, Russian, Vietnamese, and Japanese — bringing the total to 13 locales.
Fixed i18n on the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages: the header, footer, navigation, and the scrolling backlinks bar now follow the selected language instead of staying in English.
V1.1.1 — 2026-04-20
Compatibility bugfix, EXIF support
Fixed conversion failures and lost orientation on HEIC photos from newer iPhones (HEVC / 10-bit / multi-layer images).
Added EXIF read/write support so orientation, color profile, and other metadata are preserved.
V1.1.0 — 2026-04-17
Support More Devices, UI/UX Optimized
Works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on iOS, macOS, and Android.
UI/UX improvements: kept Instrument Serif for stat numbers, removed italics from labels and the pull-quote to reduce visual noise.
Fixed a dead #converter anchor that broke 29 CTA scroll links across all platform pages and the 404 page.
Added this changelog and a page introducing image formats.
